They reward the most significant achievements that have made a difference and enhanced the compliance profession.

Individual Awards

Compliance Officer of the Year+

Open to all female compliance officers, this award will go to a woman, whose achievements, dynamism and abilities have been recognised as above and beyond expectations. She will have demonstrated skills and qualities allowing her to ensure that her company (employer) is conducting its business in full compliance with all national and international laws and regulations that pertain to its industry, as well as professional standards, accepted business practices, and internal standards. The nomination for this Award should outline what the nominee has accomplished, describe the impact her achievement has had on the business and demonstrate, through concrete examples, the positive outcome of that achievement. The candidate can submit up to three (3) supporting materials – in the form of documents or videos.

Chief Compliance Officer of the Year, Large Sized Company+

Open to all senior female compliance officers within a Large company that employs 250 employees or more. This award will go to the woman, whose achievements, dynamism and abilities have been recognised by peers as exceeding expectations and who has demonstrated superior leadership qualities that have put her at the forefront of the compliance community. The nomination for this distinguished Award should outline what the nominee has accomplished during her career, describe what difference and concrete improvements that achievement has had for the business and demonstrate, through concrete examples, the positive outcome of that achievement. The candidate can submit up to three (3) supporting materials – in the form of documents or videos.

Compliance Lawyer of the Year+

This award is open to female lawyers in private practice law firms doing compliance work. The winner will be the woman who has been recognised as providing outstanding advice for the firm’s clients in the compliance sectors. The award will go to the woman, whose enthusiasm and subject matter expertise, has demonstrated and maintained passion for client-delivery and ability to translate legal requirements into well-crafted compliance policies and procedures. For this Award, it is compulsory to submit testimonials from at least two clients.

The Mentor Award of the Year for Advancement of Women in Compliance

This award is open to women and men who have helped, inspired, guided and who has had a positive impact on the personal and professional development of other women in compliance. If you have benefited from such support, please nominate that mentor by demonstrating how his/her advice and support have made a real difference to your or other women’s career, from applying for any job position, to taking high-level strategic business decisions and explain why she/he is worthy of this Award.

Compliance Champion of the Year+

These awards are open to female employees in non-legal and non-compliance departments in any organisation. The candidate will have been first line of compliance people on the ground. The award will go to the woman, whose achievements, dynamism and abilities to effectively respond to compliance queries and escalate any problem to the Compliance Department, has been recognised by her peers as an outstanding contributor to fostering a culture of compliance in her organisation.

Export Controls/Sanctions Officer of the Year+

Open to all senior female export controls/sanctions officers in corporations regardless of their size and location. This award will go to the woman, whose achievements, dynamism and abilities have been recognised by peers as exceptional and who has demonstrated superior leadership qualities that have put her at the forefront of the export controls and sanctions compliance community. The nomination for this Award should outline what the nominee has accomplished, describe the impact her achievement has had on the business and demonstrate, through concrete examples, the positive outcome of that achievement. Submitting up to three (3) supporting materials – in the form of documents or videos – can make a difference for the entry.

Compliance Officer of the Year in Non-for-Profit Organisations+

Open to all female compliance officers or equivalent function within a not-for-profit organisation* regardless of its size and location. The award will go to the woman, whose achievements, dynamism and abilities have been recognised as above and beyond expectations and who has demonstrated leadership qualities in leading compliance awareness within the organisation and showed commitment in maintaining the organisation compliant with internal policies, international laws as well as other special requirements and standards related to the sectors in which they operate.


*For the purpose of these Awards, entities that have substantial funding from the government or NGOs are not eligible

Lifetime Achievement Award for Contribution to the Compliance Community+

This award is open to women regardless of their location and will go to the most influential woman in the industry, who throughout her career has shown dedication and commitment to influence the advancement of the Compliance Community. For this special Award, candidates must be nominated by a third party. The nomination should outline what the nominee has accomplished during her career, describe the impact her achievement has had on the business and the compliance community and explain why they are worthy of this award. Submitting up to three (3) supporting materials – in the form of documents or videos – can make a difference for the entry.

Team Awards

Compliance Consulting Team of the Year+

This award is open to all providers of compliance consulting services, where the team is led by a woman or can demonstrate that the women on the team contribute significantly to the team’s overall success. Nominations are accepted from teams within consultancies, individuals, partners and clients of consulting firms. Any size of firm may enter, from any jurisdiction and any relevant discipline. Please submit examples of advice given, quantifying the success of this advice and explaining the difference and the improvements that advice have brought to the clients. For this Award, it is compulsory to submit testimonials from at least two clients.

Regulatory Law Firm of the Year+

This award will go the team either led by a woman or where the law firm can demonstrate that the women on the team contribute significantly to the team’s overall success in providing outstanding instances of legal advice in the compliance and regulatory sectors. Please submit examples of advice given, quantifying the success of this advice and explaining the difference and the improvements that advice have brought to the clients. For this Award, it is compulsory to submit testimonials from at least two clients.

Investigation Team of the Year+

This award will go to a law firm, firm or company in which a woman with legal, compliance, internal auditor, finance or risk background – has played a crucial role in securing a positive result for the client, either in preventing fraud, corruption, anti-trust or other compliance issues or in dealing with an investigation. The nomination should outline what the team has accomplished, describe the success of the work and explain the impact that achievement has brought. For this Award, it is compulsory to submit testimonials from at least two clients or any other qualified beneficiaries.

Pioneer / Programme Awards

Compliance Innovator of the Year+

This award recognises and rewards a woman, at any professional level, who has made a pioneering contribution either evolutionary or revolutionary to the field of compliance. To be considered, the Innovator of the Year will be judged on either a new idea, device, method, process, programme or scheme developed over the past 18 months (from the date of the submission), on the relevance and quality of supporting materials to provide details of the innovations, the pioneering initiatives and relevant testimonials. Only 3 supporting materials are accepted in the form of documents or videos. Finally, the nomination must describe the impact the innovation has had in improving compliance best practices within the business.

The Most Impactful Compliance Training Programme of the Year+

This award is open to a woman, at any professional level, who has conceptualised and implemented a new compliance training programme which has changed the status quo. The winner will be rewarded for the creativity of the programme, its adaptability to fast-changing regulations, product or service creation and for the difference the programme has made to the business. Overall, the nomination must demonstrate – through smart measurement – the impact the training programme has had on employee’s behaviour and on compliance best practices improvement. The candidate must submit up to three (3) supporting materials – in the form of documents or videos.

Financial Crime Compliance Team of the Year

This Award is open to the Financial Crime Team led by a woman or in which a woman is part of within an institution that operates within the Banking, Insurance or Asset Management sectors. The team will have responsibilities and specialities including AML, Sanctions, Fraud, Anti-corruption and Bribery, related investigations or other relevant compliance matters. The winning entry should outline what the team has accomplished, indicate how the team was able to leverage the unique qualities of each team member, and how the collaboration has been managed and presented for maximum impact.
