Launched in 2018, the Confederation of Laboratories for Artificial Intelligence Research in Europe (CAIRNE, formerly CLAIRE) is an international non-profit association dedicated to strengthening European excellence in AI research and innovation. By creating a pan-European network of AI research labs, CAIRNE fosters collaboration across academia and industry. Its goal is to ensure Europe’s leadership in AI, developing technologies that address global challenges like climate, health, and mobility, while reflecting European realities, needs, and values.
