Our company is a major Oil & Gas Operator that is currently undertaking a major LNG project in Western Australia. We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Insurance Advisor to be based in their Perth office.

Key responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

o Take a supporting role in ensuring the success of the organizations key commercial projects.
o Take primary responsibility in Perth Office for the day-to-day contact with internal and external stakeholders in planning and implementing project risk management and insurance strategy.
o Ensure Commercial Manager is timely briefed on the progress, risks and opportunities to adequately take actions.
o Participate in the strategic and business planning processes if required.
o Identify commercial risks in the identified projects.
o Identify potential loss exposures, and find means of controlling the potential losses.
o Select best method or combination of methods to mitigate losses.
o Planning, evaluating, negotiating risk transfer strategies and provide recommendations to senior management.
o Develop and/or improve various risk management procedures.
o Implement the approved project risk management and insurance strategy as required.
o Work with Commercial Manager to manage the relationships with the Tokyo head office and other business partners including external consultants/advisors to ensure that they are fully aligned with the commercial strategies and the work plans for each commercial area.

The following Qualifications and Experience are a requirement of this position:

o Degree or Certificate in relevant field, or relevant experience.
o Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of the organization including the head office and outside vendors, attorneys, engineers, claims personnel, joint venture partners, lenders, any governmental bodies as related to insurance responsibilities.
o Minimum five years recent experience with oil and gas or energy insurance/risk management activities.
o Need to be familiar with insurance and reinsurance market, particularly in the upstream and downstream energy.
o Need to have basic knowledge of captive insurance company.
